We are seeking a visionary Chief Data Scientist to lead our data science initiatives and drive the evolution of our data landscape.

As a Chief Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in our organization. You will establish a data science practice for Data Scientists at our organization to ensure common ways of working and the needed support for distributed data scientists at the platform level. Your general responsibility is to lead the data science practices related to machine learning within Basware.

In practice, you will also support certain ML projects and be an integral part of our creation of new GenAI capabilities in our product using cutting-edge LLM frameworks.

You will design and run proof of concepts for new functionality and drive the discovery of new ML opportunities within our organization, as well as take the lead in productizing those, bridging the gap between experimentation and implementation.

Products and Cloud Engineering & Operations business function is responsible for ensuring that Basware continues to provide its customers with industry-leading SaaS solutions to deliver true automation for the CFO’s office. As a global team, they create and execute the product strategy, new product innovations, roadmap, design, product development, and product launches for Basware’s global product portfolio. Together with other Baswareans, Products and Cloud Engineering & Operations ensures that our customers can successfully meet their business objectives through cooperation with Basware and using our product and service portfolio.

To succeed in this role, you need the following skills and qualifications:

• Substantial experience with Language Model (LLM) projects, including familiarity with prompts and different finetuning techniques, as well as a deep understanding of monitoring techniques and the implementation of guardrails.
• Adept at managing the entire lifecycle of an LLM project, from the initial setup to ongoing maintenance and optimization, encompassing a wide range of tasks and challenges.
• Excellent understanding of machine learning algorithms such as clustering, classification, regression, anomaly detection, and optimization, preferably with both small and big data.
• Experience leading and participating in initiatives to improve the harmonization and efficiency of processes and/or develop and implement innovative solutions.
• Deep understanding of the data science workflow, including experimental design and key statistical methods, with strong communication skills for complex topics.
• Strong experience in machine learning, AI, and big data technologies. Familiarity with AWS tools like S3, Glue Jobs, Athena, Spark, etc., is highly desirable. Knowledge about Azure tools is a bonus.
