As a Backend Engineer in Fulfillment Network Capacities team, you will help build the Fulfillment Network Platform which provides the foundational structure and data points that inform the many capabilities that Fulfillment Core provides, such as fulfillment planning or delivery time prediction. You will collaborate with many teams across sites and domain boundaries to solve diverse challenges and deliver a delightful delivery experience to our customers.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Join our experienced team of engineers to build and operate the next generation of our Fulfillment Network platform.
• Actively participate in large, customer-facing projects and collaborate with other teams across Zalando.
• Take full ownership of the applications you build and operate them in production.
• Innovate. Help us figure out how we best scale our platform in an increasingly complex ecosystem.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have some working experience with a JVM based language like Java or Kotlin and corresponding frameworks.
• Some knowledge, or willingness to gain knowledge, about other technologies we use, such as AWS, Postgres, and a tailored version of Kafka.
• You are motivated by the idea of building systems in the wider context of a complex distributed system at scale using REST APIs and event based asynchronous communication as well as operating them resiliently.
• You can take ownership to turn ideas into action, collaborate well across teams and sites, and communicate clearly.
