The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.

The International Health Department at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona is the unique Department on Tropical Medicine and International Health in Spain, attending more than 15,000 travellers before travelling and more than 1,500 people returning ill after travelling or migrating. It is a referral centre for tropical medicine, international health and emerging and high consequence infectious diseases.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a project manager with skills in data management to join our multidisciplinary team on imported febrile illnesses and vector-borne diseases. Our group collaborates in several multicentre studies on travellers and migrant health. The overall project goal is to improve travellers and migrant health regarding febrile and vector-borne diseases and to reduce the risk of expansion of these microorganisms to non-endemic areas.

As a project manager, you will be at the forefront of the coordination of different multicentre studies of the group, and play a crucial role in the communication with other institutions. As a data analyst, you will have the opportunity to combine your expertise in data management and analysis to address challenges faced by travellers and get involved in several studies.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Project management and coordination of multicentre studies. Communication with sponsors and other participating sites, and supervision and signature of MTAs and contracts.
  • Data management, data analysis and results discussion of different projects on imported febrile illnesses, vector-borne diseases and travel medicine.
  • Creation of compelling visualizations and reports to communicate findings and insights.
  • Support on writing study protocols and scientific articles.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be passed. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
