Job Description

Your candidacy is currently being considered for a requisition for an Alight Inc group company. As you may be aware, Alight has announced intent to divest its Payroll & Professional Services business to HIG Capital. After the transaction closes, this position will be aligned to the new Payroll & Professional Services owned by HIG Capital (‘Divested Group’). By applying for this position which will be with the Divested Group company, you understand and agree to the information you submitted for your application with Alight being shared with the Divested Group company. Role Overview

If yes, then the Payroll Configuration Specialist role is one for you.

Alight Cloud Pay is a product innovation that created Alight's own IP Cloud payroll engine based on no code/low code set-up so that country payroll can operate in a touch-less manner. We are in the process of building out a Center of Excellence (COE) team who can help with setting up country payrolls in Alight Cloud Pay.

The COE team is an extended part of the Payroll Product organization and is responsible for ensuring that Alight’s Cloud Pays Country Solutions are set up the right way with best practices and standards in mind, bringing consistency in setup across our country payrolls.

The Payroll Configuration Specialist role will be part of the COE team where the key focus will be to help configure and set up the standard country payroll solution by working closely with the Payroll Country Owners (PCOs), Products Management, Engineering, and QA teams. They will be involved in using our Alight Cloud Pay Excel workbook in configuring country requirements and rules. The setup includes updating and maintaining payroll data model workbooks, payroll calculations workbooks, and payroll outputs (report and interfaces) workbooks needed to deliver a compliant country payroll, whilst adhering to best practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of Alight Payroll's own IP solution at a functional/technical as well as business level.
  • Support the network of Payroll Country Owners (PCOs) who are local country payroll experts by understanding the country payroll requirements or client reporting needs and then using Alight Cloud Pay’s low code/no code framework, configure the needed solution using Alight Cloud Pay Excel workbooks.
  • Test payroll configurations and updates to ensure accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve payroll system issues and discrepancies.
  • Maintain and adhere to Alight Cloud Pays best practices and standards to ensure consistency across countries.
  • Work with other product team members to understand the more complex requirements, gaps, or issues to better our Alight Cloud Pay framework capabilities.
  • Ensure work is tracked, reported, and managed in line with the Alight Product SDLC and DevOps process.
  • Flag and manage issues and/or risks that impact the country localization delivery plan.
  • Provide coaching and advice to the PCOs and other business stakeholders on Alight Cloud Pay solution and capabilities.
  • Develop guides and documentation for Alight Cloud Pay framework capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team and stakeholders to detect new features and user stories, based on requirements that include acceptance criteria and acceptance tests.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in human resources, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Excellent to Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must.
  • Develop and maintain XML databases and systems.
  • Translate business requirements into XML schemas and transformations.
  • Test and optimize the performance of XML systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation for XML systems and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Service-oriented and proactive with a keen sense of Accountability.
  • Excellent Team Player collaborating with various teams.
  • Self-starter and proactive with a “how to/can do” mindset.
  • Any experience working with Azure DevOps or similar (Jira) welcomed.
  • Willingness to learn and further develop your career in a Cloud Payroll configuration and support environment.
  • Fluent in English (written, oral).
  • Any additional experience with XML-related technologies such as JSON, XSLT, and XPath are a plus.
