Company established with the mission to address global food scarcity and promote sustainable farming methods is seeking a Mechanical Department Manager to lead the project. They specialize in the development, construction, and operation of nitrogen fertilizer plants worldwide. Each of their plants has the capacity to support the nutritional needs of approximately 16 million individuals by utilizing excess crop production facilitated by their fertilizer. In addition to ensuring food security, the company places great emphasis on the environmental impact of their operations. Unlike traditional fertilizer plants that emit significant amounts of CO2 during the nitrogen production process, this company adopts a zero-emissions approach, exclusively employing air, water, and renewable energy sources such as green hydrogen to produce the necessary nutrients for crops.

Description

Department Manager, with full involvement in the Projects as well as responsible for corporate development.

Qualifications and Experience:

MsC Mechanical Engineering, 12 years + in a similar position, 1 year minimum Site experience. Preferred experience in Fertilizers or Chemical Plants, including solid handling. Experience in Module engineering is a plus, as well as Green Hydrogen/Green Ammonia Projects.

Functions:

1. The D.M. will develop the Project excellence for Mechanical equipment, in close cooperation with the design team and the Contractors.
2. The D.M. will ensure that Project activity performed by Contractors including design, requisitioning and purchasing, manufacturing and delivery happen in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
3. The knowledge transfer across projects and the lessons learnt is our habit.
4. The D.M. will coordinate and supervise the different Projects in the different Phases with support of a fast-growing team.
5. Executive analysis and reporting skills are needed to adequately support strategic decisions, especially for main packages (Electrolyzers, Nitrogen, solid handling, etc.)
