What tasks await you

• As part of the Starter Team, you will receive exclusive onboarding training - first-hand directly from Microsoft experts.
• Be involved right from the start and help shape the development and smooth operation of our Microsoft Cloud Services platform. Your work lays the foundation for future-proof and confident digital management.
• You will contribute your SDN network know-how to a team of passionate experts who jointly operate and further develop the Azure and Office 365 platforms for the sovereign cloud of the German administration.
• You take over the monitoring of our platform in the Sovereign Cloud Ops Center and ensure that our services always meet the highest standards.
• You are responsible for the design, optimization and operation of all active network components in the DC area for maximum stability and security (DC networks and edge infrastructure (Service Delivery Point (Regional Network Gateway)).
• Strict adherence to network guidelines, rules and processes to ensure the highest standards.
• Apply and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides (TSGs) and playbooks to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.
• You implement solution strategies to prevent future incidents.

Who we are looking for

• You have more than three years of experience in building and operating network infrastructure, preferably in SDN environments.
• You have in-depth knowledge of firewall, network security or network monitoring solutions (e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower/ASA and/or Juniper SRX).
• You have several years of experience with encryption protocols/technologies for data protection, including VPN, IPSec and TLS.
• You have very good knowledge of programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python or Perl.
• You are very experienced in network automation with scripting languages, preferably Python.
• Existing certifications such as Microsoft Azure, CCNP, JNCIP, CompTIA Security+ are desirable.

Necessary for the project

• Willingness to work flexible hours for emergency repairs or system-critical updates.
• Fluency in German and English.
