HR Business Partner (m/f/d)

Your tasks

To strengthen our HR team in the Netherlands, we are looking for a proactive and hands-on HR Business Partner, based in Koog aan de Zaan (NL). In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, ensuring legal compliance, HR initiatives, and contributing to a positive work culture. You will work with different departments (e.g., sales, production, engineering, finance) and advise on the entire employee lifecycle (onboarding to offboarding). You will collaborate closely with the HR assistants supporting daily HR operations for the Netherlands and be part of the global HR team with colleagues in the US, Germany, and India, reporting directly to the Chief HR Officer.

Location: Koog aan de Zaan

Place in the organization: The position falls within the HR division and reports directly to the Chief HR Officer.

Team size: The Koog aan de Zaan HR team consists of four people. You will work with a team of three colleagues, including two HR assistants and the Chief HR Officer. International coordination occurs with global branches, particularly in Emmerich (Germany). Project work often involves intercultural teams.

Your Tasks (detailed)
  • Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees in all HR-related matters.
  • Provide expert advice on Dutch labor law, including contracts, terminations, terms of employment, and the Metalektro collective labor agreement.
  • Support and guidance on personnel issues, conflict resolution, disciplinary measures, and complaint procedures.
  • Collaborate with management on engagement, retention, and team development.
  • Manage end-to-end HR administration processes, including onboarding and offboarding.
  • Contribute to the company’s growth strategy with innovative and talent-focused recruitment solutions.
  • Support payroll processes and maintain contact with external payroll providers.
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch labor legislation and internal company rules.
  • Implement and improve HR policies, tools, and working methods tailored to local needs.
  • Lead or support HR projects and change initiatives.
What do we expect from you?

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Advisor.
  • Thorough knowledge of Dutch labor law and HR best practices.
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to coach and influence managers and employees.
  • Excellent social and communication skills in Dutch and English (verbal and written).
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
