About The Role

We\'re looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial operations in our US and German entities for our Berlin location. While knowledge of Nepali financial systems isn\'t necessary, the ability to navigate and coordinate finances across different countries and cultures is vital. We need someone proactive, highly organized, and skilled at problem-solving. This role will also include tasks like billing and reviewing invoices for our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations for US and German entities, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable and support financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with our external accounting service providers to ensure compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and German accounting standards, as well as relevant tax regulations in both countries.
  • Support the preparation of documents for tax filings and audits. Handle billing processes and review client invoices with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support financial data integrity and timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across departments and geographies to support business initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving, anticipating challenges, and implementing solutions effectively.
  • Demonstrate a sense of ownership and accountability for the scope of financial responsibilities.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables.
What You’ll Need to Succeed at this role
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) in accounting, or finance roles, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of US GAAP and German accounting principles, with experience in international accounting operations.
  • Fluency in English and a good level of German is a plus
  • Proficiency in using accounting software (we use QuickBooks, Spendesk, and Chargebee)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think ahead and anticipate potential issues.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and drive results independently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a dynamic startup environment.
