People Business Partner
Reporting to the DACH PBP lead, this role acts as a trusted and integral part of the DACH people team.
The focus of this role is to provide support to the People Business Partner (PBP) team with the full range of people activities related to performance management, professional development, compensation/total rewards, talent reviews & succession planning, onboarding/offboarding, and employee engagement. You will also be the lead business partner for the mid-career consultants or corporate services and contribute to EMEA projects.
The role holder will have strong organizational and prioritization skills and a focus on delivering exceptional results working as part of a team, as well as individually under their own initiative. The successful candidate will need to have high emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills and be comfortable managing conflicting priorities, anticipating needs, and communicating with challenging senior stakeholders. They will thrive in a reactive, fast-paced environment.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with the lead business partner to build an awareness of the firm’s strategy, service lines & industries, geographies, and culture, and how to apply people-oriented solutions.
- Develop strong working relationships with the business group at all levels and be the key point of contact for the mid-career consultant or corporate services population including advice and counsel on employee relations, on/off boarding, performance management, compensation/total reward, employee communications, and retention.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders including advising and guiding them on people-related matters.
- Support talent review & succession planning, performance management, and compensation/total rewards processes.
- Manage the local performance management process, including regular employee evaluations, promotion management, embedding a continuous feedback culture, and corrective action plans as necessary.
- Support with compensation benchmarking exercises.
- Partner with the business and the learning & development team to ensure training solutions are delivered and communicated.
- Provide support in the creation of performance and people metrics, commentary, and communications appropriate to business group(s).
- Co-lead/support local D&I initiatives and workstreams combining best practices in the market with local ideas to drive meaningful culture change.
- Lead local projects, contribute to EMEA projects, and implement global/EMEA projects locally e.g., performance management changes.
- Work closely with people team colleagues:
- with the Talent Acquisition team to support effective hiring strategies.
- with the People Operations team to proactively identify potential issues, manage performance, underperformance, flexible working, etc.
- with the Learning and Development team to identify training needs and deliver appropriate solutions by working with internal resources and external vendors.
What you'll need:
- Previous HR or business partnering experience in a professional services environment with a maximum of 5 years of experience.
- Fluency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
- Intermediate levels for Word and Excel.
- Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint is needed in this position. You will need to be very confident with this package and be able to turn presentations around quickly under pressure.
- Any experience of working with an HR system would be advantageous.
