Mechanic Technician

Building the first pilot unit at an industrial scale at Ucaneo to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

We're seeking a skilled Mechanic Technician to join our Berlin-based startup, focusing on optimizing our aeration unit for Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems. Operating in an agile environment, you'll be part of a 3-5 member Hardware Engineering team, responsible for designing parts, prototyping and bringing up lab support. We appreciate experience with power tools and 3D CAD designs as well as electrical work or welding.

Key Points

• Design and develop test fixtures, jigs, mounting brackets, alignment systems, etc.
• Develop CAD models for basic components to do prototyping (preferably SolidWorks)
• Modify and improve current concepts for testing equipment
• Operate and maintain lab equipment including electrical tools, 3D printer etc.
• Bringing up lab support & instrumentation, material procurement, prototype testing, 3D printing, reporting, prototyping, etc.

Your profile

Skills and experience

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical production and workshop experience and maintenance, preferably in R&D industry. Ideally, you also have knowledge and experience with electrical systems, e.g. electrical circuits and soldering.
• Proven track record of hands on work in mechanical prototyping, and mechanical assembly and demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of using various hand and power tools
• Experience with 3D CAD Tools: High attention to detail

We are ascience and mission-driven team, fast-moving with a break-or-make attitude. Our office is located in the heart of Berlin, at Torstraße 110, lab in Buch, but we will move to Mazahn this summer to our industrial hall.
