Join our team as a Production Associate – Master

Our Production Associate – Master is highly specialized experts in the remanufacturing of Caterpillar machine components. By utilizing Cat OEM reference material, they expertly disassemble, inspect, recondition, assemble and test components of all types; makes, horsepower and sizes in your area of specialization (large engines or powertrain components) in order to meet our rigorous quality guidelines.

We do this by leveraging strict Caterpillar standards for Component Remanufacturing, combined with modern facilities and factory trained technicians to Remanufacture components to “like new” standards and performance. Customer owned components can be remanufactured to our standards, or they can leverage our component exchange program to minimize downtime. Our trusted and reliable services extend to both Cat and non-Cat equipment and have proven to be effective, efficient and environmentally sustainable without compromising on quality. We operate from 4 regional facilities across Eastern Canada and are moving to a new state of the art facility in Bradford Ontario in Apr 2024 to increase our production capacity and broaden our capability.

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Remanufacture major components of all types; makes, horsepower and sizes (engines, transmissions, differentials, final drives, torque converters, axels, and others) to Caterpillar standards
  • Maintain awareness of delivery times and schedule work at the bench and maintain work-flow
  • Prepare quality documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Enter detailed time-entry records for the job working on
  • Consistently produce products of superior quality while meeting the rebuild TRG’s (Time Requirement Guidelines) as published for various components
  • Ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are met in a safe, efficient, knowledgeable and professional manner

Must-haves for this role:

  • Over 5 years of shop experience or equivalent in depth knowledge and experience in evaluating and disassembling and remanufacture major components/heavy equipment of all types; makes, horsepower and sizes in all makes, types (engines, transmissions, differentials, final drives, torque converters, axels, and others) and sizes to Caterpillar standards
  • Post-secondary education/completion of an accredited Trade School program and a valid Licence in one of the following trades; Truck & Coach License, Heavy Equipment Technician and/or Automotive
  • Technical experience in the automotive, truck and coach, heavy equipment or related industry
  • Must have experience using precision measuring instruments to measure dimensions of manufactured products or components
