Role Description

This is a full-time Desktop Support Engineer role based on-site in Elgin. The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers, resolving hardware and software issues, troubleshooting technical errors, and providing printer support. The role involves ensuring efficient system performance, assisting end-users with technical inquiries, and performing routine maintenance to support the organization’s IT infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in managing Desktop Computers and providing expert-level troubleshooting for computer systems and hardware.
  • Strong skills in Technical Support, including identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues faced by end-users.
  • Experience in Printer Support, including installations, repair, and troubleshooting printer-related problems.
  • Knowledge of Computer Hardware and its components, including assembly, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in on-site IT support or a similar technical role is highly preferred.
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or Cisco certifications are a plus.
