We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly skilled Technical Bid Writer to join our team. In this role, you will produce clear, compelling, and technically accurate responses to functional and technical requirements as part of formal bids, tenders, and proposals. You will work closely with subject‑matter experts, solution architects, and sales teams to ensure high‑quality submissions that align with client needs and organisational capabilities.

What you'll be doing…
Bid Response Development
  • Interpret and analyse functional and technical requirements from RFIs, RFPs, ITTs, and other tender documentation.
  • Develop accurate, persuasive, and well‑structured written responses tailored to client specifications and scoring criteria.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, customer‑focused content.
  • Liaise with sales, presales and product teams to gather technical content.
  • Ensure timely delivery of responses in line with bid schedules and deadlines.
  • Participate in bid kick‑off meetings, review sessions, and submission planning.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure compliance with client instructions, formatting, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to internal content libraries and knowledge bases to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Assist in editing and proofreading functional and non‑functional sections for grammar, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Analyse feedback from past bids to refine content and improve win rates.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, client expectations, and competitive positioning.
  • Proven experience writing technical content in a bid or proposal environment within a Local Government context.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to functional specifications and technical documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with bid processes, public sector procurement, or frameworks like G‑Cloud, APUC and CCS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other standard office applications.
  • Knowledge of structured bid methodologies (e.g., APMP, Shipley).
  • Experience with bid management tools (e.g. Loopio).
