Trainee Sales Consultant

About the Role

Reporting to the Retail Centre Manager and based at our retail sites, the Trainee Sales Consultant plays a key role in delivering a seamless and engaging vehicle sales journey. Representing brands such as Subaru, Peugeot, Deepal and Foton – a global leader in commercial vehicles now making its mark in Australia – you will act as a trusted advisor, supporting customers both in-store and online from their first enquiry through to post-delivery follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn lead management processes, including triage and qualification for appointment booking to support sales via EDM, phone, or web.
  • Contact customers and qualify leads by asking customer-focused questions to determine their journey (online or in-store).
  • Allocate appointments to the in-store team efficiently.
  • Develop product knowledge to deliver comprehensive and informative demonstrations to customers.
  • Build strong customer relationships by explaining product benefits and features clearly, using interpersonal skills, clarifying questions, and anticipating needs.
  • Support team goals for customer satisfaction and reputation, keep customers informed throughout the buying process via CRM, and follow up post-delivery; perform other duties as required.

  • Strong interest or experience in sales, retail, or automotive industry; exceptional customer service skills; proficient computer skills including Microsoft Suite.
  • Valid driver’s licence (mandatory).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to adapt to different customers and deliver great experiences; multitasking with attention to detail; strong organisational skills; willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • High standards of professionalism and integrity; passion for products; sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
