We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Accounting Team Leader to join our dynamic organization in the UAE. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, with a proven track record in UAE corporate tax, VAT, IFRS, and managing key accounting functions. This role requires a professional with at least 5 years of relevant experience who is ACCA, CA, CIMA-qualified or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting team to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to team members to achieve departmental goals.

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.

Tax Compliance:

• Manage and ensure compliance with UAE corporate tax and VAT regulations.
• Prepare and review tax filings, returns, and related documentation.

Accounts Receivable and Payable:

• Monitor and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Implement efficient processes to improve cash flow management and reduce outstanding debts.

Balance Sheet Management:

• Conduct periodic reviews and reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the accounting department.
• Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

Compliance and Audit:

• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CA or CMA or equivalent is non-negotiable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on UAE corporate tax, VAT, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and balance sheet management.
• Experience in a client-facing/shared services/consulting environment.
• Strong IFRS knowledge.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
