Job Overview

The Wholesale Manager oversees and manages the wholesale sales operations for preowed cars. This job requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in automotive wholesale, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of international trade and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to maximise sales, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for both local and export wholesale operations, aligning with the group’s overall business objectives.
  • Identify and capitalise on new market opportunities to expand the wholesale business.
  • Drive sales performance in both local and international markets, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale buyers, dealers, and brokers to secure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee the procurement of used vehicles for wholesale, ensuring a diverse and high-quality inventory.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet demand while minimise holding costs, optimise turnover rates. Navigate the complexities of international trade, including compliance with export regulations, tariffs, and documentation requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with international buyers, shipping companies, and customs brokers to facilitate smooth export operations.
  • Manage local wholesale transactions, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and execute promotional strategies to drive local sales and increase market share. Monitor financial performance, including sales revenue, profit margins, and cost control measures. Prepare and manage budgets for the wholesale department, ensuring efficient use of resources. Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to make informed decisions.
  • Analyse market data and customer insights to develop effective pricing and sales strategies.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Implement best practices for documentation and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service throughout the sales process, addressing and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Work closely with other departments, including sales, finance, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations and customer service.
  • Represent the wholesale department in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
