Job description

Technical Training Manager: Responsible for ensuring the business is equipped with technically competent employees in his area of responsibility and meets our obligations under the O&M agreements. Oversees the optimization of technical L&D activity to directly meet the needs of the business and create value for both the business and our people. Ensures technical and functional learning and development, qualification programs, and their customization, implementation, and progress remain coherent and meet the highest international standards. The role supports the business in growing its internal technical expertise and competence for the sustainability of business efficiency and effectiveness within a speedy growth plan in the market.

Who will fit:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/chemical engineering is essential. Other engineering degrees will be considered based on experience in the field.
  2. Must be fluent in English.
  3. Minimum of 15 years’ total experience in the Power/Desalination industry in an O&M role. Technical training and development experience in a multinational environment is a plus.
  4. 5 years of experience in the Gulf or Middle East in O&M is a plus.
  5. Certification as a Trainer or well-experienced in designing and delivering training programs.
  6. Certified in Project Management (PMI or PMP).
  7. Experience in coaching and mentoring others in developing skills or careers.
  8. Designed and deployed technical program paths in an operational environment.
  9. Experience in using assessment methods, e.g., ability tests, psychometrics, behavioral and technical-based assessments.
  10. Experienced with Quality and Occupational Health & Safety systems and principles.
  11. Able to manage multiple projects with specific time constraints.
  12. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to enhance organizational effectiveness. Excellent communication and presentation skills across all levels of the business, with the ability to connect with people to drive successful relationships.
  13. Able to design 70-20-10 personal development plans in an operational environment.
  14. Subject matter expert in one area of operation and maintenance of power plants.
  15. Ability to design and deliver training, explaining abstract concepts to people from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  16. Capable of delivering information to Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians.
  17. Must be able to prepare technical training manuals.
  18. Digitally savvy, expert in PowerPoint, and experienced with LMS and other online learning resources.
  19. Able to work in a fast-paced environment across geographies.
