Job description

Job Objective

The Manager – Faculty Affairs is responsible for overseeing day-to-day faculty administrative processes, including the implementation of the faculty manpower plan, onboarding, workload management, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth functioning of faculty operations, effective policy implementation, and compliance with accreditation standards, while also fostering a positive and supportive faculty experience.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Role

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Department’s core function in alignment with HCT’s
  • system-wide strategy to implement Faculty Affairs’ strategic objectives and initiatives by coordinating with HR.
  • Support long-term planning for faculty manpower, adjunct faculty development, and Emiratization-related policies in collaboration with HR and Academic leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance faculty professional development pathways.
  • Contribute to the development of regular high-level reporting to ensure effective management, reporting and communication.

Operational Role

  • Liaise and collaborate with HR and Academic Divisions to support Faculty Affairs-related activities, including but not limited to screening applications based on established criteria, coordinating interviews, managing official correspondence, and overseeing contract status updates to ensure the effective implementation of the academic manpower plan.
  • Coordinate and oversee faculty onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring a seamless compliant experience.
  • Ensure proper execution of credential equivalency verifications, contract renewals, and faculty ranking process in liasion with HR.
  • Liaise with industry partners to communicate the understanding of Adjunct Faculty business needs.
  • Lead coordination of faculty-related events, rewards, incentive programs, and academic engagement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with the accreditation standards, faculty policy documentation, and institutional governance practices.
  • Manage Faculty Graduate program-related tasks, including but not limited to selection, performance, academic status, movement to full-time employee, release time, professional development, and, career progression.

Leadership Role

  • Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance appraisals for direct subordinates based on HCT's Performance Management System.
  • Coach and mentor subordinates on a regular basis.
  • Liaise in an effective and efficient manner between the Faculty Affairs, Academic Divisions, and the HR department.

Qualification

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field is required, e.g., Education, Business Administration, or HR Management. PhD is preferable.
  • Full English and Arabic proficiency are required.
  • Advanced computer literacy is required e.g. MS Office.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience including 2 years in a managerial role with relevant work experience in Faculty Affairs and Applied Research.
