Job description

As a Joinery Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects by providing accurate and detailed estimates for joinery and woodworking services. You will work closely with our sales, design, and production teams to assess project requirements, analyze costs, and prepare comprehensive estimates that align with our quality standards and client expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Evaluation: Assess project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand the scope of work.
  2. Material and Labor Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of materials, labor costs, and other relevant factors to determine accurate project estimates.
  3. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, design, and production teams to gather necessary information and insights for accurate estimating.
  5. Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit well-organized and competitive bids while meeting project deadlines.
  6. Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing and availability.
  7. Value Engineering: Collaborate with the design and production teams to suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
  8. Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project documentation.

Requirements

  1. Experience: Proven experience as a Joinery Estimator or in a similar role within the joinery or woodworking industry.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software and tools. Strong knowledge of joinery materials, processes, and construction methods.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
  4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  5. Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  6. Time Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
