The Role

We are seeking a bright, ambitious, and purpose-driven Director of Conduct, Financial Crime, and Compliance to join us in Dubai. In this role, you will establish and maintain a robust governance and compliance culture and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and CFCC policies and procedures.

Our ideal candidate would be responsible for managing the efficient and effective governance of CFCC risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate team support (people, processes, tools, frameworks, systems) to enable sustainable business growth and appropriate mitigation of CFCC risks.
• Assist senior management in ensuring that the levels of compliance and governance are in line with regulatory expectations and SC Group requirements.
• Manage core aspects of the regulatory relationships and communications to maintain an effective and open relationship with the regulators.
• Manage licensing requirements, routine examinations, and inspections, and oversee all key reporting and regulatory queries.
• Manage regulatory change work to ensure timely, thorough, and effective implementation.
• Assist in implementing the CFCC team's vision, strategy, and plan, which is aligned with myZoi's strategic plan.
• Continuously develop and improve myZoi's compliance policies and procedures in line with applicable laws and regulations.

Business

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Business, providing timely advice to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Implement a risk-based CFCC framework and assurance/monitoring program to mitigate compliance risks proactively.
• Challenge business stakeholders where activities exceed risk tolerance, escalating as needed.
• Support and challenge myZoi's businesses and functions to maintain appropriate conduct, comply with CFCC requirements, and achieve fair outcomes for clients.
• Conduct investigations into suspicious activity, conduct reporting to authorities, and enable informed decisions on reputational and regulatory risks.
• Promote a culture of compliance and adherence to CFCC standards, including ethical conduct and the Code of Conduct within myZoi.
• Align with the Group's and SCV's Compliance framework, producing high-quality management information for compliance risk framework owners.

Processes

• As an independent second-line risk control function, execute the relevant aspects of the Compliance (including Financial Crime and Enterprise) risk framework through robust independent risk control and the provision of specialist advice and constructive challenge in a manner proportionate to the nature, scale and complexity of the Group's business.
• Implement and conduct regular CFCC training programs on an ongoing basis to educate staff on the relevant regulatory developments, CFCC policies, and standards.
• Assist in setting control standards and advise on developing appropriate controls to mitigate regulatory risks.

Risk Management

• Escalate to Chief Compliance Officer compliance and conduct breaches and ensure effective management of issues identified – including comprehensive and timely actions for complete remediation.
• Analyse and advise on the holistic impact of complex Regulatory Compliance matters on myZoi's business and operations.
• Oversee identification, assessment, management, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting of compliance (including regulatory, conduct, and financial crime) risks.
• Contribute to formulating CFCC policies and standards for approval by the relevant governing body (as necessary) under myZoi's governance framework.
• Contribute to developing controls for risk categories where Compliance has been defined as Risk Owner (as set out in the relevant Risk Management Frameworks).
• Collaborate with other CFCC teams within the Group and SCV to anticipate horizon risks and support the development of effective strategies to mitigate them, including global standards for business conduct.

Governance

• Draft, implement, and maintain CFCC policies, standards, department operating instructions, and process notes.
• Promote and embed a culture of openness, trust, risk awareness, and organizational compliance, assisting with implementing and tracking regulatory and financial crime policies and standards.
• Manage the remediation process for any CFCC risk issues and breaches.
• Support the Chief Compliance Officer and myZoi with horizon scanning, staying updated on regulatory changes and breaches relevant to myZoi's business model.
• Design, implement, and manage an effective regulatory change management approach for myZoi in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

• Possess a strong understanding of the financial services sector, demonstrating sound judgment on business practices within a digital environment, regulatory frameworks, corporate governance best practices, and CFCC risk management.
• Thrive in a creative, fast-paced, agile environment, ensuring fair outcomes for clients and financial crime compliance.
• Ability to produce nuanced and robust advice by seeing things from multiple perspectives and fully unpacking problem statements.
• Excellent business acumen encompassing industry trends and regulatory considerations.
• Bring over 12 years of hands-on experience in financial crime, compliance, and regulatory risk management.
