Job description

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for the position of Contract Manager!

Job Purpose:

Ensure all supplier contracts are compliant with procurement policies, guidelines, and templates, enabling structured contract data for reporting, analytics, and contractual performance tracking. Identify and manage contract-related risks while implementing robust financial and operational controls. Develop and implement effective policies, processes, procedures, and systems to enhance operational effectiveness in procurement and contracting.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Owns and drives the Annual Procurement Plan to maximise contracted spend and mitigate risk of non-contracted or maverick buying.
  2. Develop and implement comprehensive contract management plans in accordance with sourcing documents, established contracts, and approved procedures, and monitor and analyse performance, addressing non-performance, to achieve the required contract outcomes, and specifically avoid non-contracted spend.
  3. Create and maintain comprehensive contract databases, ensuring all contracts include standard performance metrics for food and non-food categories. Ensuring databases are dynamic sources of information using company templates.
  4. Implement and maintain new policies and procedures to ensure best practice procurement processes are continually developed.
  5. Collaborate with buyers and other stakeholders in the Sourcing Solutions function in contracting optimisation and the mitigation of contract-related risks, including renewals, terminations, and other key deliverables.
  6. Provide reports and timely analysis of contract expiration, claim opportunities, and other pertinent business information to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives.
  7. Support buyers and stakeholders in optimizing contracts and mitigating contract-related risks, including renewals, terminations, and key deliverables, fostering collaboration, and maximizing contract value.
  8. Stay abreast of current and future legislative changes impacting supplier contract templates, coordinating updates to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  9. Actively seek opportunities to enhance contract administration through insights into cutting-edge contract management processes and technologies, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Education Qualification:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Contract Management, Contract Administration, Contract Risk Management, Procurement, or any other relevant field. (Must have)
  2. Legal or contract management certificate from a recognised higher education institution. (Preferred)

Work Experience:

  1. Minimum 6 years of Procurement experience.
  2. Previous experience in a Legal environment preferred.
  3. Previous experience in contract performance management, associated risk, and problem-solving, including issue resolution and conflict management.

Skills:

  1. Legal, financial, and commercial knowledge encompassing contract law, contract drafting, and relevant business acumen.
  2. Strong analytical and reporting skills, interpreting, and analysing data to derive insights and recommendations.
  3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  4. Detail-oriented multitasking, managing multiple contract-related priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Proficient in reviewing complex contractual documents and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
