Our client, a leading consulting firm, is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as the Operations Lead - Cards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and enhance card operations processes, ensuring seamless integration of systems and compliance with industry mandates. The position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with a 12-month contract.

This role requires extensive expertise in card operations, reconciliation, settlement, and chargeback processes, with a strong focus on implementing Mastercard mandates.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute and manage card operations processes, integrating systems for daily activities.
  2. Analyze scheme mandates and support the implementation of changes to align with requirements.
  3. Manage reconciliation and settlement processes for accounts.
  4. Execute chargeback processes for accounts and oversee settlements.
  5. Prepare and deliver accurate and timely quarterly reports for schemes.
  6. Test and manage transaction clearing and settlement processes.
  7. Identify and resolve operational issues in collaboration with the technology team.
  8. Manage General Ledgers (GLs) for nostro settlements, income, expense recognitions, and chargebacks.
  9. Train card operations and fraud teams on scheme mandates, chargeback processes, compliance, operational processes, and reconciliation and settlement procedures.
  10. Streamline existing processes, including automation, to reduce time consumption and errors through training and new methodologies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  1. Process Execution: Successful execution of card operations processes.
  2. Accuracy and Timeliness: Timely and accurate reconciliation and settlement.
  3. Chargeback Management: Reduction in chargeback processing time and errors.
  4. Reporting: Timely and accurate delivery of quarterly reports.
  5. Training Effectiveness: Effective upskilling of card operations and fraud teams.
  6. Process Efficiency: Improved operational efficiency and reduced time consumption.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. 10+ years of experience in card operations, with a focus on reconciliation, settlement, and chargeback processes.
  2. Strong understanding of Mastercard accounts and related processes.
  3. Proven experience in implementing Mastercard mandates and meeting reporting requirements.
  4. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
  5. Proven experience in training and developing teams.
Skills:
Technical Requirements:
  1. Proficiency in card operations systems (CMS) and software.
  2. In-depth knowledge of reconciliation and settlement processes for cards.
  3. Familiarity with General Ledger (GL) setup and management.
  4. Experience with transaction testing and settlement processes.
