Associate Human Resources Generalist is an HR professional responsible for providing HR business partner support for a defined operating region and/or functional business group. The role directly reports to the Manager, Human Resources. The Associate HR Generalist routinely interacts with internal Operations & Function Managers, Executive Management, Professional Staff, Craft Employees, and Corporate Function Leads; and external Clients, Customers, and Technical/Professional Advisors.
- The Associate HR Generalist position is typically accountable for holistic HR business support or sub-function remit for a geographic area or functional group.
- Proven ability to provide HR Business Partnership advice (consulting and coaching).
- General Human Resources includes work across multiple areas of HR including:
- General HR program/policy development, administration, and compliance.
- Assistance in employee hiring, onboarding, termination, system & records maintenance, and other administrative activities.
- Employee and labor relations and communications.
- Support for employee relations and direct interaction with professional and/or skilled craft labor workforce; resolving employee concerns.
- Rewards program coordination and/or administration.
- Employee mobility administration (domestic and international) and immigration support.
- Organizational Training and Development including support delivery of company training initiatives.
- Staffing and Recruiting, including project staffing support.
- Talent and Organization Performance, including talent & succession management programs across area of remit.
- Advice on labor relations, union and collective bargaining, and industrial agreements.
- Advance company DE&I initiatives & goals.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all regulatory and employment laws mitigating employment risk.
- Provide support for timekeeping and payroll processing.
- Produce and analyze HR reports, reach conclusions, or make recommendations to achieve business goals.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and HR functional performance.
- Support workforce planning activities, including forecast histograms and staffing plans.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Labor and Employment Laws for area of remit.
- SHRM or other HR professional certification preferred.
- Experience in the delivery of training programs and materials preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of the Engineering & Construction industry.
- Proficient Computer Skills - HRIS Databases and MS Office.
- Project site or construction craft HR experience preferred.
